What states in the united states have lush vegetation?
Q. I'm trying to write a book but I can't find a place to set it in. I know I want it in the United States, in a beautiful rural area with a small town, and a lot of trees, like forests of them, and the winter gets pretty cold. If you know of a place like this or live somewhere around one, please let me know what state it is, and if your comfortable, what town it is too. Thanks!

A. Oh boy, Pennsylvania fits the bill. Forests, meadows, waterfalls, huge boulders around riverbanks. Winters are cold and last from Halloween until St. Patrick's Day. November is absolutely bleak, cold winds, gray skies, maybe some sleet. Always snow by Christmas, and January is brutal with black ice on the roads, many inches of snow. February is still cold, and the snow turns to deep gray slush at the sides of the road. The forests get thick and tangled, not like California where you can walk easily between the trees, this is hard going. Western Pennsylvania has remnants of the glaciers' retreat, where huge boulders line the riverbanks. Rushing rivers where kayakers or swimmers can be killed, slippery rocks on the river bottom, often… [cont.]

How does the United States pay for things? What are the technical details?
Q. The United States doesn't have a 'bank account' so how does this work exactly. All checks from the United States government are from the Department of the Treasury, correct? And when that check is deposited in a bank, then how exactly does the bank increase that person's account without debiting the United States government account (of which there is none)? Basically I'd like to orient myself to the 21st century method of payments between the government and its people.

Q. Can you help me? What issue became a major problem for the United States government after the Mexican War? whether slavery should be allowed in the western territories whether Mormons should be allowed to settle in Utah whether the United States should annex Texas whether Americans should migrate to Mexico's northern territories is it: whether the United States should annex Texas? i think it's this one, but i am not sure!
Asked by . - Mon Dec 22 09:45:20 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well the War with Mexico War ended in 1848, nd by then Texas was already annexed to USA. That happened in 1845. The Missouri Compromise was passed in 1850, and that was the deal about slavery in the western territories. USA took a whole chunk of land from Mexico at the end of the War with Mexico, and USA did not know what to do about slavery in that area. So that was the major problem USA had: whether slavery should be allowed in the Western Territory

Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. With Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them. Not once, but repeatedly. Unleashing chemical weapons against Iranian troops during a decade-long war. Not only against soldiers, but against civilians, firing Scud missiles at the citizens of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran. What can the United States do to decrease the percentage of Obese people in the United States?
Q. I need three main points to help societies in the United States lose weight...such as putting tax on junk foods so not that many people can buy so much, therefore there will become less obese people.
Asked by Im Cool - Wed Apr 23 21:15:10 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Where there is a will there is a way. People will go to great lengths to stay obese because they can get Disability/ medicaid, food stamps etc... that is what we have to stop, the Get Out of Jail Free option. People do this to them selves, some are genetically pre-disposed, but ultimately, with their diet and lack of exercise they continue what their family started and pass it on.

But it has been proven that making nice is quicker and more effective than a rubber hose. And the guy who captured Saddam Hussein wrote the book about it. I'm just too lazy to look up the title.

How will a United States economic collapse affect Asia?
Q. Apparently, from what I've heard the United States is headed for an economic collapse. What I want to know is how will an Economic Collapse affect Asia? According to Peter Schiff, Asian currency will rise as the US dollar falls. China is looking to be a world economic leader and would lead Asia. Also billionaire Jim Rogers has moved to Singapore and said that China is going to grow. Do any of you feel that any of this is true? What I want to know is how will Asia do if the United States collapses economically?

A. First of all, the US economy is not going to collapse. It's not even clear we're in a recession. The great depression was exacerbated by a fledgling fed that did exactly the opposite of what they should have done. That is, they took liquidity out of the system rather than adding it. Regarding your question, a collapse of the largest economy in the world (we are four, some think five times larger than China in GDP) would send the entire world into a depression. Since we would presumably default on our treasury bonds, of which China and Japan hold the most in the world, countries who hold our bonds as foreign reserves would experience a crisis of liquidity. Also, their export markets would dry up overnight and there would be a run on their… [cont.]

A. same reason they give them to everyone. Without a patent, anyone could copy their product. They would never develop any new porducts. The cost is in the millions to develop a new product, and they cannot afford to let someone else have it for free. Patents encourage innovation and new product development. Without it we might have never got pass the wheel

Convention was not that, it was called for the purposes of revising the best form of gov't. we ever had, The Articles of Confederation. When it became clear that it was evolving into a ConCon, delgates Lansing and Yates returned to New York. The idea behind the Revolution was for a republican form of gov't.
