Discrimination portal This box:

Racism is the belief that the genetic factors which constitute race are a primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. Racism's effects are called "racial discrimination." In the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or receive preferential treatment.

Racial discrimination typically points out taxonomic differences between different groups of people, although anyone may be discriminated against on an ethnic or cultural basis, independently of their somatic differences. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnicity discrimination.

There is some evidence that the meaning of the term has changed over time, and that earlier definitions of racism involved the simple belief that human populations are divided into separate races. Many biologists, anthropologists, and sociologists reject this taxonomy in favor of more specific and/or empirically verifiable criteria, such as geography, ethnicity, or a history of endogamy.

White people what is the worst racism you have personally experienced?
Q. Someone asked black people what is the worst racism you personally experienced so I am asking Whites what is the worst racism you have personally experienced. After all to think blacks are the only victims of racism is totally ridiculous.

A. I am white. A few years ago, I was eating at a fast food restaurant with my young son. A group of black people at another table were yelling & cursing terribly. I asked them if they would please stop. They surrounded my table and started screaming at me and my son. One woman threw her drink on me. When I went to the counter, the white manager asked ME to leave.

Is racism to demos the same as family values to repubs?
Q. Repubs scream whenever a demo does anything that they connect to racism. Demos scream whenever a repub gets caught cheating on his wife. Is it because they use those issues when they are running for office?

A. I'd say so. In my opinion the politicians on both sides are hypocrites that use the idealistic voters for their own ends. I know it sounds cynical, but it seems pretty true to me.

Is racism less prominent between elite and upper-class people?
Q. Would you consider racism to be less prominent between elite/upper-class people and why? I personally think so, because they better educated than to treat that way and they don't compete over small jobs with foreigners etc. And no retarded answes that have NOTHING to do with the question, nothing offensive to anyone either!

A. The upper-class and educated are simply less honest about their prejudice toward others because they are both required to, and understand how, to conveniently disguise their racism. It is widely believe that Southerners are the most racist people among America, yet the greatest concentration of hate groups in America is in New Jersey, followed closely by Pennsylvania and Ohio; all three comfortably north of the Mason-Dixon line and two within the original thirteen colonies. This information shows that Southerners are simply more honest about their feelings toward certain groups. I would assume that if anything, the fact that the wealthy and upper-class of America rarely come into contact with black people or foreigners would mean they are… [cont.]

Race is a grouping of animals within a species, particularly humans, on the basis of heredity and stereotyped physical traits. Among humans race is often used as a basis for participation in or exclusion from social activities. The construction of racial groupings varies by culture and time, and is often influenced by political considerations.

  • If you're a real American—that is, an American Indian—you're lucky to be alive. For whether he really believed it or not, the white man has acted on the principle that "The only good Indian is a dead one". This was certainly one of the foundation stones upon which the white European invaders of North America and their descendants established and built the republic of the U.S.A.
  • Most of the American laws defining race are not to be compared with those once enforced by Nazi Germany, the latter being relatively more liberal. In the view of the Nazis, persons having less than one fourth Jewish blood could qualify as Aryans, whereas many of the American laws specify that persons having one-eighth, one-sixteenth, or any ascertainable" Negro blood are Negroes in the eyes of the law and subject to all restrictions governing the conduct of Negroes.
