The term is generally applied to behavior within civil governments, but politics has been observed in other group interactions, including corporate, academic and religious institutions. It consists of "social relations involving authority or power" and refers to the regulation of a political unit, and to the methods and tactics used to formulate and apply policy. The word "Politics" comes from the Greek word Πολιτικά (politika) from politic (adj.), modeled on Aristotle's "affairs of state," the name of his book on governing and governments, which was rendered in English mid-15 century as Latinised "Polettiques." In Latin, this was "politicus" and in French "politique". Thus it became "politics" in Middle English (see the Concise Oxford Dictionary). HistoryThe origin and development of government institutions is the most visible subject for the study of Politics and its history. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What is the assumption that political attitudes or opinions cluster in the middle of the political spectrum? Q. The assumption that political attitudes or opinions cluster in the middle of the political spectrum is known as: A. the illusion of bimodality. B. the illusion of moderation. C. the illusion of saliency. D. the illusion of central tendency. E. the illusion of stability. I keep going through my book and the only terms it has are illusion of saliency (which has a definition that doesn't seem to fit this question) and illusion of central tendency which it doesn't explain at all. Any help would be much appreciated. Asked by elveneyes400 - Fri Sep 18 00:10:09 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. I understand the question, but I'm not sure what answer is correct (ie, the answer you need to be considered correct by your teacher). B, D, and E seem like words that would be correct, and if your book only mentions D, then I would assume that. Answered by Angus - Fri Sep 18 00:15:38 2009 How do I start a political watchdog? Q. Q. How did the economic, geographic, and political factors contribute to the enslavement of Africans in North America? Asked by T.J. - Tue Sep 16 19:44:04 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. It had a lot to do with it from both sides. Africans were selling there own people who's villages were captured. This helped Africans because at the time the West cost of Africa wasnt able to get a lot of things imported in so selling the people allowed them to pay a lot more for people to deliever to there region. It helped America cause this place has always been built on cheap labor. Political wise it was a lot larger in Africa. IT allowed some people to take power while others lost everything. In North America getting slaves didnt hit polotics until the slaves had been here for a while and some decided that they felt slaves were human also.
